About This Locket:

Carry a cherished piece of history close to your heart with this elegant 9KT Back & Front Antique Locket. Intricately engraved on both sides with a charming shield design on front. Freshly polished with a new 14KT split ring bail for easy wearing on modern chains.

‘Back and front’ means the piece is a combination of solid gold and another non-gold metal, with the gold likely making up the majority. Non-gold components typically include the inner frames, hinges, and bail. This technique was popular during the Victorian period as it allowed pieces to be both lightweight and durable.

Condition:

This locket remains in good antique condition. A few minor scratches on the gold surface remain after polishing. There are minor dents and gold purity mark on the back. The split ring bail is brand new and the locket securely clicks shut.
