About This Locket:

This beautiful Antique 9K Back & Front Star Locket features pearls on each star point and a gorgeous garnet center. The intricate repousse work adds a touch of elegance and the varying rosy to vibrant yellow color makes it a stunning statement piece. 

‘Back and front’ means the piece is a combination of solid gold and another non-gold metal, with the gold likely making up the majority. Non-gold components typically include the inner frames, hinges, and bail. This technique was popular during the Victorian period as it allowed pieces to be both lightweight and durable.

Condition:

The locket is in good antique condition, with some scratches on the gold. The locket clicks securely when closed. The locket is overall light in weight compared to its size, which makes it very easy to wear. It is strong because of the back-and-front features.
