Transitional Cut/OEC Trilogy Ring, Two Tone Gold, Size 6
Circa late 1930s to early 1940s
This two tone ring is simple and elegant. The three transitional cut diamonds are bright and clean. They do have inclusions visible under magnification. Please message me if you’d like a better description on the types of inclusions. The three have a larger cutlet, larger table and lower crown. They are not perfectly round, just like Old European Cuts. The large cutlet is clearly visible like OECs. The lower crown is completely descriptive of a transitional cut. You can clearly see the transition of the different diamond cutting phases. There are a few minor superficial scratches that add beauty to the vintage splendor. The color is a slightly warm hue. All three diamonds capture the light beautifully creating little sparkle explosions. These are the perfect example of the merger between the old and new world. Based on all the components, this is probably a cross over style between decades. Circa 1930s/1940s.
4.3 mm wide, comes out about 4.26 mm
The two side diamond diameters is 2.8 mm. The center diamond diameter is 3.4 mm. Based on measurement I estimate about 0.27 cts.
Weight on my scale is 1.8 g.
There is a maker’s mark and a 18K stamp. The yellow gold tests as 18K but the white gold tests at 14K.
Size on my mandrel is a 6 and sizable.
Please pay close attention to the photos, they are also part of the description.
