Two Tone, Heavy Wedding Band, 6-28-05, Size 6.75
Circa 1920s
This is a two tone wedding band made to impress! She is definitely pretty heavy and clearly visible on the finger. There is a floral pattern on the white gold that goes all around the ring. Fine milgrain detail adorns both top and bottom. You don’t see two tone bands in this great condition come around often! It seems to me that it was resized at some point, there is a visible discoloration line on the inside. Another line is present, but is very faint. Due to the re-sizing, the pattern is slightly disrupted, but only visible if you look closely.
About 4.25 mm in width, comes out about 2.43 mm
There is no stamp but it tests as 14K & 10K with an acid test. The yellow gold tests as 10K and the white section is 14K. There is an inscription present, “June 28, 1905.” The “June” is faint but still visible. There are remains of other inscriptions but not clearly visible.
Since both colors test as gold, there is a possibility that the band was made at a later time. White gold was not commonly used until the 1920s. So maybe this band was made for an anniversary?
Size is a 6.75. The size feels slightly snug, probably due to the amount of gold present. I do not recommend resizing because it would disrupt the pattern, please consult with your jeweler.
Weight on my scale is 7.2g.
