About This Charm:
Few things feel quite as sentimental as a tiny pair of baby shoes. Dating to approximately the 1960s, this 14K yellow gold charm is a sweet reminder of life’s earliest moments. Traces of its original bloomed gold finish remain, giving the pair a warm vintage character. A new split ring serves as the bail.
Bloomed gold is a historic surface treatment in which an acid wash was used to bring a thin layer of pure gold to the surface, creating a soft, velvety matte finish. Most commonly seen on Victorian and Edwardian jewelry, it can also be found on some vintage pieces. This delicate finish remains highly sought after by collectors today.
Condition:
This charm is in good vintage condition with areas of developing patina. The 14K split ring was newly added as a bail. A faint purity stamp remains visible on the soles. Some of the original bloomed gold finish remains, though it has faded in areas.
