About This Charm:
A tiny mailbox made for carrying a little sentiment close. Crafted by J.M. Fisher Company, this vintage charm features a heart on the front door, which opens and closes as if waiting for a special letter. Even the flag moves up and down, bringing this thoughtful miniature to life.
J.M. Fisher Company was founded in 1879 by John Melatiah Fisher and Charles R. Harris in Attleboro, Massachusetts. Known for sentimental and everyday jewelry, the company produced lockets, charms, and other pieces in gold, gold-filled metal, and sterling silver. J.M. Fisher remained in operation through at least the mid-20th century, although its exact closing date is unclear.
Condition:
This charm is in good vintage condition with areas of developing patina and surface scratches. The 14K jump ring was newly added as a bail. A purity stamp and maker’s mark are present on the bottom.
